The Shad Whistler features all of Dan Blanton's fly attributes in an all-synthetic variation. Threadfin shad comprise a large portion of a striper’s diet; hence, the yellowish dorsal of this fly. I especially like to bump it slowly along the bottom using a fast sink tip line with intermediate running lines when water temps drop into the low 50s. Strikes will be very subtle, but big fish show up for the dance.
